This book is more accessible than the Dragon book (Compilers: Principles, Techniques, and Tools) but is less complete. This book presents complete source code for parser generators tools and a C compiler. Even if this book is getting a little bit old and it targets a DOS platform, it should not stop you from acquiring this goldmine of very useful information for anyone interested in compilers for a very reasonable price.

Roman knows that he can't wait any longer its getting to be too painful to be around her and not have her so he invites her to his place for a party. Its not long before they both admit their feelings and give in to what they've been fighting. What will their family think about them being together?This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story, I would recommend this book to any book lover.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Took 14 chapters to get anywhere & I had to jump over each one then to only have to skip over after chapter 18 to the end. Poor writing content. Two 20yr old 'step-cousins' and the supposed 'taboo' is ridiculous throughout this. Sad bc I usually like the JS books.

Slightly tabooish but I loved this story. Roman and Kennedy are step cousins so Roman thinks he is wrong for wanting her. As for Kennedy, she wants him and she's going to get him. This is another classic Jenika Snow story. It's sweet but still hot........and it short but you still get a whole story packed into it. Love the story and love the characters!!

What a lovely story. Loved everything about it. It was written so that I felt the emotions, felt pulled into the story, watching it unfold. Loved the surprise near the ending. The ending was pretty sweet too.

I loved the book so muchJenika Snow is an amazing author

I’m usually upset when short stories end to quickly. But with this story I felt like the author was repeating herself over and over to make it longer. This could have been half the length of the story and still feel the same. I liked Kennedy and Roman. For two years they both had secretly been in love with each other, but didn’t want to toe the line since they’re family through marriage. It was well written, just too long with the constant internal dialogue of thinking of the other person or the longing, yadda yadda. That felt like filler. Otherwise it was a really good story with this author’s unique stamp on it- celibate guys who are extremely possessive about their women.

I'll acknowledge that I'm quite picky about romances, so I'm sure people who are less picky will enjoy this. That being said, the dialogue feels unrealistic, especially from the male protagonist, who definitely comes off as a woman attempting to write a bad boy but not succeeding. The writing style in general is also choppy and repetitive. It kind of hurt my brain to read tbh.But my biggest complaint is that these two 20 year olds are having unprotected sex without even a mention of birth control or condoms. I was half expecting the heroine to end up pregnant by the end because what else would be the result of that? I'm a stickler, but I'll continue to be a stickler. It's irresponsible for romance authors to write unprotected sex like this. I realize that maybe inserting a condom into your story isn't ~sexy, but you should buck up and do it anyway. The alternative is an unrealistic fairy tale where women just magically don't get pregnant, and it's annoying and naive.

This book is easy to read and digest, and offers a lot of helpful mnemonics to refer to while conducting a psychiatric interview or in any other situation where one might need to ask relevant questions and make a differential diagnosis without actually referring to the DSM. I am only about 50 pages into the book and already I have come across sections that have helped clarify concepts that have confused me in the past despite asking questions of colleagues and reviewing other texts (e.g. how to differentiate schizoaffective disorder from a mood disorder, say depression or bipolar disorder, with psychotic features). I am a PMHNP student in the last year of a DNP program, and would recommend this to others in a similar position, providers in other specialties who want to know more about psychiatry, or anyone else with a genuine interest in understanding psychiatric interviewing and diagnosis better. I wish that I had found and read this book prior to some of my earlier coursework where I was evaluated on my ability to interview and diagnose, because I think it would have helped.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner student, and after reading the author's previous pharmacology book, I had to get this one. This book just makes total sense and brings light to a subject that can be very confusing. The only thing that I would tell the author is that there are so many typos in the book that I wonder if it somebody proofread this ... Maybe I am a perfectionist (not OCD), but it bothers me a bit ... LOL

Im in school of PMHNP school now and im using this as a way to bring all the information together that im learning in school.its very helpful to break things down.

I am excited that the book is now available on Kindle! Unfortunately, many of the pictures in the Kindle edition appear to be incorrectly sized and are chopped up over multiple pages? Maybe Amazon can fix the pictures.

Very interesting and informative, keeps me wanting to read more and more and has a bunch of ways to memorize things.

From this perspective, I find Simon Proudman’s Far Flung Guide to Vanuatu incredibly useful. Particularly the information on the outer islands and locally-owned tourist ventures - this is gold! Believe me, it can be so hard to come by.I’ve landed on remote islands in Vanuatu with nowhere to stay and no idea of where to go, simply because there was no tourism information available. This meant I had to rely on locals at the airport to direct me to a bungalow and trust to the gods that everything would work out. Fortunately NiVanuatu are incredibly hospitable and I’ve always had wonderful experiences. Even so, I’d have been much more confident if I’d been travelling with this Far Flung Places guide in my hand!If you're planning a trip to Vanuatu, this is essential reading. If you haven’t been to Vanuatu or have never heard of Vanuatu, this will make you want to go.

Vanuatu by Far Flung Places’ Simon Proudman is an excellent, comprehensive travel guide to this beautiful group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean. Mr Proudman has really done his research, and it shows - the amount of detail in each chapter is astounding, and will help anyone who wants to explore the nation.He has obviously travelled extensively throughout the country, providing information not only on the ‘main’ attractions but also out of the way places which stays true to the author’s promise of “Far Flung Places”. One thing that I noticed and really appreciated about this guide is that the information doesn’t filter out as the destination gets more remote - the author has really strived to be as complete and comprehensive as possible.This guide is great even for armchair travellers, as it has lots of coverage of cultural aspects of travelling in Vanuatu, and really gives a valuable insight to this nation whose culture is rarely explored or properly understood by outsiders. The last section of the book is a collection of stories from Simon’s travels around the archipelago, including surfing on the tops of active volcanoes, dancing to American pop tunes in small villages and an interview with local artisans.Overall, the balance of essential practical information and interesting “stories from the road” makes this book an excellent guide for both the traveller and the armchair traveller. Highly recommended.

My wife and I recently travelled to Vanuatu and prior to our departure, consulted a number of different sources to assist us with our planning and preparation. Simon Proudman's guidebook was invaluable in helping us to prioritise islands and attractions to visit during our visit. Whilst in Vanuatu, this book was again of great help to us as we searched for the best places to eat and drink. The general and historical information that is provided helps travellers gain a greater understanding of this beautiful and fascinating country. I would highly recommend this book to anyone travelling to or living in Vanuatu, and to anyone who interested in the South Pacific.

A worthy, and even better, follow-up to his guide to Turkmenistan. The opening section tells the prospective traveller all they need to know, dealing with the main, but also the less-visited islands, with detailed accommodation listings, maps and thorough and lively descriptions of the many attractions. There are handy day-trip itineraries, as well as suggestions for longer visits.But it is not only the comprehensive and detailed travel information which distinguishes this book from other guides. The intrepid Proudman regales us with jaw-dropping tales of how he climbs various volcanoes - surfing down one of them, samples the local brew, is initiated into the mysteries of the Cargo cults and eats plenty of lobster - well, someone has to do it. I'm currently living in Vanuatu, so was very interested to see how Simon portrayed the country. I was really impressed with his depth of knowledge, understanding of the cultural aspects, and coverage of the diversity of the islands. This is an enjoyable, easy read, with comprehensive, current information for anyone looking to visit Vanuatu. A very useful handbook, which I thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely exhaustive guide to this fascinating place, great detail, anecdotes, and highly researched practical info too make this the perfect book to have on hand. I have just bought this brand new 3rd edition and compared it with my 1st edition. They are almost exactly the same, even down to the page numbers. This is an old scam by textbook publishers, but usually they will at least change around the table of contents and put in new diagrams, photos and tables. Not so with this title.And if the 1st and 3rd editions are almost exact copies, then I'm sure the 2nd edition would be fine too.Also, do not think that you need to buy the "Custom Edition" for your school, it's just the campus bookstore's and publisher's way of keeping you off Amazon and charging you double for an already overpriced book.

Chemistry: A Molecular ApproachEven though it says twice in the description that the ebook comes with Mastering Chemistry, and it is the first result with an ISBN search that includes Mastering Chemistry, it actually doesn't contain Mastering Chemistry. False adverting at its finest. Chatted with support and all they would do is refund my money so I can order a hardcover. I can't go without a text while in a class. Very bad customer service.

Chemistry is my least favorite subject and the one I struggle with the most but this textbook provides lots of helpful examples that have step by step explanations. This is one of the few textbooks I've actually read and worked through completely and it doesn't disappoint. I went from getting solid C's in chemistry to an A-/B+ level, which I think is pretty good. I do wish the chapters were a bit shorter though but I guess it would be hard to condense all the material.

Great book, included even more than I needed for my class. It was frustrating that it did not include much of the appendix information that most of the other books include such as acid/base values, oxidizing/reducing agent values, etc. the tables in the chapters are only partial and refer one to a nonexistent appendix to see the "rest of the values" that this book doesn't include. It's too bad because this was actually a wonderful book otherwise. It includes extra information and problems that the other version of the general chemistry book does not and it helped carry me to an A in my chemistry 2 course.

Content of the chapters matched up with the non-global edition. BUT, the exercises/word problems and answers were almost always different than the non-global edition. So, if you’re purchasing for class, I would spend the extra money for the non-global edition. I got lucky and had a professor that let me take pictures of her exercises and answers in the non-global edition since I’d already bought the global edition. Just an FYI!

This is a good chemistry book for anyone in an AP chemistry or college chemistry setting for those taking their first Chemistry course in a post secondary school setting. I have seen a better book for this topic but this book does serve its purpose and I would recommend using it consistently especially if this is assigned in your course. The explanations are fairly straight forward and examples are numerous throughout the book. If you follow this book there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't get an A in the course you are taking unless your teacher decides to digress to more advanced topics such as Organic Chemistry.

Been using this book for several terms now for my general chemistry sequence and it was a little cheaper than buying it at the campus bookstore. Very satisfied with the purchase. Tro does a great job walking through the problem solving and using real world examples, but I've found that problems can ask you to find a given variable in an equation and the book may never give an example like that. So the book is good but you won't see every kind of problem i.e. it might be up to you to rearrange the equation. This is not a fault of the book just expect to have to do some critical thinking as they don't spoon feed you everything.

Complex concepts, such as rate laws and the more difficult concepts of acids and bases among others, were broken down well and explained with helpful detail. It is the type of book that you can sit and read for a longer period of time because, although it seems like it is based on size, it isn't a verbose book and relates chemistry topics to the real world. The chapter review exercises are also very well organized, getting a bit more and more difficult as you progress rather than mix a very simple problem with a very difficult one right after.Toward the end of the chapter, they also provide a unique section called the "Key Learning Objectives" where they guide you toward specific chapter review exercises that relate to in-chapter example problems. Speaking of those in-chapter example problems, I thought it was nice how they guide you through a problem and then leave a "For Practice" one that has no guidance and challenges you to mimic the path they gave for the previous example problem.My college used this book for an entire year for a general chemistry sequence, so I experienced this entire book and was satisfied with it overall.

You can print both and you can copy both to your computer or resizing software. This is how all patterns should be offered. I've never had a problem working off of one of these CDs. They are loaded with patterns which are clear and reporduce well. The pattern's are of good quality and are designed to be easily integrated into any stained glass software programs or other computer programs that anyone might use. This book immediately caught my eye based on its unique setting and structure and fun plot, and the fact that it won the Man Booker Prize. I decided to get this book (got the kindle version) despite reading some reviews that the book was "too long" or that characters "weren't developed" and I am SO GLAD that I did! I loved it! thrilling and engaging, with many interesting and diverse characters. The astrological structure superimposed over the plot added a larger meaning/purpose to the book that took it beyond a classic (albeit engaging) murder/blackmail mystery. I also had a very basic understanding of astrology but didn't feel that hampered my understand or enjoyment of the book. I enjoyed reading every second of it, and it was a very quick read despite its length due to the fact that most of it is engaging dialogue between characters. You might not get a super fairy-tale-ending resolution to all the character's storylines, but Catton's writing is truly brilliant. A perk of reading this on a kindle, is that you can click on the many character's names and be given a background on who they are and what astrological sign/planet they are associated with, and also be able to translate/define vocabulary words that are specific to New Zealand. I wish there was a translator for Maori though! I had to type the passages into google translate on my phone, not sure why the language wouldn't be included in the Kindle translator. Overall: Very glad I read this book!! It is so complex, I could easily see myself reading it again and still getting new things out of it.

Gushing reviews are easy to write, (so are pans), but what to say when you know that a book is well written, innovatively and creatively structured, and is destined to be loved by many, but it just didn't appeal to you? "The Luminaries" by Eleanor Catton, is such a book. Short-listed for the Booker Prize, this novel, that weighs in at over 800 pages, takes a bit of a commitment to get into and, once invested, it must "grab" you to continue. I got half-way through and then had to have a "talk with myself" about continuing. It just isn't my kind of novel and continuing was going to take too much of my precious reading time. Yet, I was far enough in to see that its innovative style of folding back in on itself will appeal to many readers. It's like a complicated pastry; the plot is kneaded and folded to produce the confection intended. This is not a novel for readers who like their plots to be linear.Catton's writing style is beautifully lush and vividly descriptive. Her descriptions of the myriad characters are wonderfully rendered both in the descriptions of their physical selves and of their inner selves. Catton also creates a unique and interesting setting of a New Zealand gold mining town in the mid-nineteenth century.I'm posting this candidly honest review to help other readers ascertain if they are the type of reader who will enjoy this unique novel, or not.

I LOVED this book.. It's one of the best ever about the Spanish conquistadors. The knowlegde and obvious love the writer has for the subject shows on every single page. It's almost like a Lonley Planet guide combined with a James Clavell epic, since the writer traces the expedition of Fransico Pizarro and his conquistadors in Colombia, Equador and Peru mainly. What a fantastic book! If you want to broaden your knowledge on what the most famous conquistadors did, I highly recommended this absolute stunning page turner! 5 stars, I wish I could give even more than that.

This was a well written and very informative book. It covers the travels of four of the most prominent adventurers of the 16th century-- Cortes, Pizaro, Orellano and Cabeza de Vaca-- conquistadors whose exploits would be almost incredible, if not backed and fully documented in the history of the Americas. The book is well illustrated and is certainly not in the typical genre of a history text. As a matter of fact, it incorporates a sense of travelogue and unusual feeling of reality, because author Michael Wood actually retraces the steps of the gentlemen he writes about. The scenes are vividly described (and often illustrated) as Wood makes many discoveries himself. The book was later created as a PBS video.

This is an extremely well-written book that gives a cursory history of the Spanish conquest of Latin America. We read of the fall of the Aztecs and the Incas, as well as other trips of discovery undertaken by the Spanish explorers in the early part of the 16th century. The book is too short to give a detailed discussion of each of these events, but it does "hit the highlights", as it were. For anyone interested in further reading or study, there are a multitude of works available, but for the casual reader, this is an excellent introduction to what may be considered the beginnings of Europen-style civilization on this continent.

Not detailed as i was expecting. Overall it was a good DVD with Michael wood retracing the steps taken by the Cortez and Pizzario.Prompt and efficient service.

This book is a great treatise on a few of the best known conquistadors. Giving a great wealth of information but concisely, without all that extra baggage of needless minute details that bog down a good biography. VERY well written.Do not be fooled by the narrow-mindedness of the few that badmouthed this great book. Wood treats the subject of the Spaniard's incredible cruelty towards the natives in total objectivity, in fact it should have gone into more detail of the inhumane barbarism perpetrated by the Conquistadores in this sad period of history, read Las Casas and you'll understand. It was pure genocide with unbelievable torture and suffering.But the book also covers Cabeza deVaca, the only conquistador that was truly a Christian, and realized the Indians were human beings and deserved humane and equal treatment... so much so that he, later on, actually put his own life in jeopardy in their protection from other conquistadors. I'm of direct Spanish descent, so I have no axe-to-grind here, just straight-forward honesty about a very dark period in history of some vey brave, but evil men.I've read MUCH on the subject, and loved this book.

This is a wonderful book and one which changed my way of thinking about the place of Columbus and those who followed him to North and South America.From the guile and brutal pragmatism of Cortez to the 16th century equivilant of The Sopranos found in the Pizarro family Wood paints a detailed, exciting, and mostly sad picture of Spain's conquest of the New World. But, the reader will be moved by the bravery of Orellana, he who first navigated fully the Amazon River. And even more moving is the shipwreck, travels, and discovery of our common humanity in the adventures of de Vaca.In this book you will read the good and the bad. You will also come to the conclusion, as I did, that the English and French incursions into North America pale compared to what the Spanish did and accomplished, for good and bad, in the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, Central America and South America. And like the last Conquistador you will conclude that the Spanish conquest of America was indeed a crime against humanity. This book contains great photographs and wonderful descriptive commentary by the author. It is a must for every history lovers library and should be in every American school.
