I found this text more difficult to study than A Comprehensive Review for the Certification and Recertification Examinations for Physician Assistants: In Collaboration with AAPA and PA, but the question/answer format of the book is invaluable practice for the actual exam.The CD (which installed flawlessly on my Mac) is worth the price of the book alone! For those of us recertifying, and six or more years from our last exam, the multiple choice test bank provides excellent practice. You can choose the length of your practice test, whether you want to see each question explained as you answer it or wait until the end, and which section of the exam you'd like to take (or retake). There are a total of 360 questions.The study and test-taking skills chapter is also excellent for the first timer or especially the repeat tester. No reason to do poorly just because you don't know HOW to read the questions! Overall, a good study guide, and reasonably priced considering the CD, text, and overall exam preparation.

Why use a book when you can do PA Easy which is the exact same questions that you can practice on a computer and get real test style practice but some prefer books. It's painful going through this, studying for PANRE now. I went through 4 chapters and went to computer practice questions. Just practice as many questions on the computer as you can is my theory.I'll stick to PA Easy, same questions, easier to use.

Not having been in practice for several years, I was definitely anxious and nervous about this exam. For 2-3 months I studied this book and the aapa certification book cover to cover and passed the exam. What's convenient about this book is that the questions are broken up in chapters that somewhat correlate to the aapa study guide. So you can read a chapter from the aapa guide then test immediately after using the Lange question book. Worked for me. The reason for 4 star and not 5 star is that the book did have a few wrong answers.

Excellent work by the people who put the time to write this book. Most of the sections are absolutely great witht he explanations, some of the short, to the point. I like the longer explanations because those go into details about about the "none-correct" answers that helped me to wider my review.Each answer has a reference attached to it and if I had a qestion about the explanation I could google the reference for better understanding or verification.

I have bought multiple review books including the previous edition of this one. I'm still not a fan of this book because of the errors. I was hoping the authors would have improved it with this edition.

I am using this book to review system sections for the FNP program. The questions are very thorough and well designed. The only change i would make is on the Kindle version is that i would find a way to put a link at the end of each question that will take you to the answer on that question instead of clicking all the way out to find the answer. Thanks!

This book offers a decent review for the PANCE. It provides a CD with practice questions as well as practice questions in print which are helpful and have explanations with the answers. The book is divided by subject area and contains a pre-test and post-test.

I feel this book is not worth what I paid. The CD is the same questions in the book so dont get too excited about it. The questions though were written very well however. Its good to go through and read exam style questions however I feel there are many other resources that offer much more questions.The book has chapters of each PANCE or PANRE categories. The answers after each question is actually very comprehensive. The writters did a very detailed job explaining each answer choice at the end. I feel however that this book does not come close to covering enough to do well on the exam if studies alone. I highly recommend getting a more comprehensive review style literature and use this as a supplement to that.

Every American should understand the argument presented here. This is not really a book - it is a series of brief essays that address the most important issue in American law. How should laws and the Constitution be interpreted? You will always be glad you read this book!!

I used this book to expand my knowledge of originalism as I am preparing to lead a class discussion on the subject. The book provide an excellent discussion of originalism including fundamental pros and cons provided by leading lawyers and historians.

This is a great read for anyone studying the constitution, interested in the concepts of Judicial Restraint and Original Intent. It puts you in the mind of the Supreme Court Justice!

The description & order confirmation said I was to receive a "hardcover w/dust jacket" of the book. What I received was a paperback with multiple stickers attached to the cover.

This book was not exactly what I expected; it was better. It contains an essay by Justice Scalia about the judicial role in deciding statutory and constitutional questions. His essay is followed by comments by other individuals which, in turn, is followed by Justice Scalia's response. The most fascinating part of the entire book was the recognition by the writers that judges have taken it upon themselves to legislate and decide what government policy "ought to be" in rendering judicial decisions. Some of the writers seem to think this is acceptable and expected. To an attorney who has watched courts reach intellectually dishonest decisions in cases where there is potential economic or political impact (for example, one appellate court went so far as to render an unpublished opinion in one case -- apparently to conceal its dishonesty in letting a state divert millions of dollars from a state retirement plan -- then followed up a few months later with a published opinion by the same judges with a precisely opposite holding on an important legal question decided in the first case), the concerns expressed by Justice Scalia were more than theoretical. While our legislators may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, at least voters can remove them from office or persuade them to change their minds. There is no such opportunity with unelected judges who not only can manipulate facts and law in their rulings, but can issue decisions that never see the light of day and thus escape public scrutiny. Both liberals and conservatives have plenty to fear from judges who believe that they are a law unto themsleves.

Excellent and of course very well written .. I highly recommend this book.

This book is not an easy read but it is an important read. For those of us who believe (as I formerly did) that legislators' intent should form a basis for interpretation of a difficult statute, this essay will help you discover just how slippery is that slope.

Short but very interesting chapter written by Scalia. Remainder of book is four or five different chapters written by legal notables about Scalia's chapter. Not what I expected. Thought the entire book was written by Scalia - disappointing.

She strivesnot to translate Chinese medicine into a Western form of understanding but instead supports Western expansion of consciousness to allow for anunderstanding of this type of reality. Her depth of understanding is evident, and this impressive goal may best be placed into the hands of existing practitioners. Dechar's book is admirable in its scope but difficult in its detail. The concepts are explained well, but the average consumer may find it all a bit overwhelming. In Andean society, as in many other areas of the world, irrigation water carries broad cultural significance and has long been a source of conflict. Nowhere is the struggle over irrigation and over the cultural meanings of water more apparent that in Cabanaconde, a large peasant community located in the arid highlands of southern Peru. Using historical materials and richly detailed ethnographic reporting, Paul H. Gelles shows that water, ethnicity, and power in Cabanaconde, as elsewhere in the Andes, must be understood against the backdrop of the region's colonial past and contemporary nation-building in Peru. Sifting through the layers of meaning found in the local, ritualized model of irrigation and in the secular, monetary model put forth by the Peruvian state, Gelles shows that these models embody fundamentally different cultural rationales concerning natural resources, power, equity, and efficiency. Local models of irrigation, which previously served indigenous and Iberian states, have now become powerful tools of resistance against interference by local elites and the national government. Vividly Illustrating the politically charged nature of highland communities and irrigation systems, Water and Power in Highland Peru provides a new framework for understanding highland communities and Peruvian cultural politics, a model that ca be extended to the study of ethnic conflict and "development" in other regions of the world.

I don't "get it". I realize Paleo is all about natural foods, (we eat Paleo) but you should also eat low carb. Nearly every recipe in this book is around 50 carbs/serving. I substituted a smoothie for supper a few times, and I do love them, but all I've done is gain a few pounds….and my blood sugar has gone up. Not happy about that.I also don't understand why she has you use the cartoned coconut milk in some recipes and canned in others; some recipes call for a little of both. I've looked thru the book 3 times and can't find a reason for the different coconut milk. If someone can enlighten me, I would appreciate it.The recipes are delicious and there are recipes here you can't find searching the net. I guess maybe having 1 or 2 smoothies/week might be ok with the carbs: even if they are natural, not processed, refined sugars. I would like to know the glycemic LOAD of these recipes. I do like having the nutrition info for each recipe, but some scare me!

Actually, that's where I discovered Açaí, at one of these places.What I enjoyed about this book was the layout, index and ease of reading. There are 150 recipes here. There are over 24 gorgeous color pictures of deliciously named smoothies. These pictures are great and their presentation makes you just want to "Lick" the pages. Think of those cologne samples pages that provide scent samples of their aroma, that's what I wanted from this book. With the index and content sections I was able to quickly pick the ones that I wanted to make first. I will eventually read all the recipes, but I needed to have a quick set-up guide and this worked for me.I discovered in less than a week what I could use sunflower butter and cacao powder to create the most astonishing tasting smoothie I have ever devoured. Really, knowing the "magic" on how to create that drink was worth the "price of admission" of this book right there for me! Learning to make, "The Cilantro Smoothie" is another one of those great discoveries for me in this book. There's a cool dashboard like or ticker tape look of the nutritional information per serving size on each recipe. I have friends who are on a gluten-free diet and I have recommended this book to them. It's amazing that there are no diary products in this book. The Sunflower Chocolate Smoothie taste as if it has a velvety/ creamy taste to it, much better tasting than any chocolate ice cream milk shake I have ever slurped through a straw. Forget what you know about or don't know about gluten free diets this is for someone who wants "Flavor" in their smoothies without feeling bloated.This book taught me the proper sequence of adding ingredients to make smoothies. I didn't realize I have been doing it wrong for so many years and it really does make a big taste difference. That is just one of the many great insights included in the book. She must have spent some crazy hours honing down all the knowledge "nuggets" in this work of art.That author's love of doing what she has dreamed of doing just oozes throughout the book. It does this without being incessantly boorish. It radiates in a positive light throughout with some very creative names for her drink creations.This book taught me about "Medjool Dates". They are not the most appealing things to look at...but they do wonders for smoothies as far as taste and aroma. They are known as the crown jewel of dates. I have used mint, spinach, cinnamon, ginger, cilantro, nutmeg, cacao powder, papaya, watermelon, coconut water, almond milk, and several other ingredients that are brand new to me in creating my smoothies. I discovered that mason jars make excellent smoothie glasses by this author. I did it and it's great to drink out of for when you want to drink the big gulp of rich fruitiness.Go ahead, and don't be afraid to take the "plunge" into this very informative recipe book with over 150 delicious smoothies recipe book by purchasing it. Seriously, I very much doubt you will regret it. I know I haven't, as I have made over 12 recipes so far and learned so much by having read this incredible morsel of a book. I did a quick count of 60 recipes that are a must for me to make.An added surprise to me was that the book was printed in the United States of America and that made me proud to support the author and how she was able to get this book printed here in the USA and offer to us at a very reasonable price. The author is from Quito, Ecuador located in South America, the continent where a lot of the super food is grown in Brazil, etc. and she now lives in Boise, Idaho. I thought if someone from another country is so passionate about smoothies, I thought I would pick up a few pointers from her and she didn't disappoint me. She also has a blog that looks like she does all of this for the "Love" of it all. I think it shows good intentions and without bias and I find it appealing. I posted pictures on the Customer Images for: Paleo Smoothies: 150 Smoothie Recipes for Ultimate...Mirror Man: My Queen/ My King, and also children of all, this book contains drinks that may make you power up for the day and feel very invigorated. It made me want to explore some of the benefits of the Paleo way of eating by sampling some of these delicious drinks! I will incorporate some of their "ways' in my healthy lifestyle of eating.
