In general I really liked this book. The characters were super cute an endearing. One major thing bugged me. There's a picture of a baseball on the cover but clearly the author knows nothing about baseball. For example in referencing the main character's big game she has the other main character say something like "you struck him out in overtime." First there is no "overtime" in baseball, it's called extra innings, second a starting pitcher would never be still be pitching in extra innings, not even in high school--unless they had a no hitter going (which would be bigger than a srititrikeout) and even then it's unlikely. The point is you can't have a series that involves baseball and not research or talk to someone about the sport, specifically what you are writing about.

This book is so satisfying. This is the third YA book I've read by Maggie Dallen, and I've loved every one. Dallen has a talent for tapping into and satisfying high school fantasies while keeping the stories charmingly grounded in teenage angst, hopes, fears and audacity. Who hasn't dreamt of escaping high school pigeon holes and reinventing a spectacular new persona? But then the hottest guy alive might wreck it all ... unless he might be, dare I say it? Nice. Through Dallen's delightful prose, we follow Ronnie/Veronica on her journey to herself and we watch as Drew turns out to be much more than meets the eye. A wonderful read!

I enjoyed this story. It's a fun, entertaining young adult read. Ronnie is trying to figure out who she is in her junior year at a new school. She takes the chance to reinvent herself as more than just one of the guys and another jock. She wants to be seen as a girl, a dateable girl, by boys and has not had that happen at her old high school. Luckily she has some good friends that help her stay true to herself within this process. She runs into Drew, who she knows from growing up with him but he doesn't recognize her. I liked the way that the story developed and thought it handled some great aspects of being a teenager. The story is a fun one and can be read for pure enjoyment. It also has some good lessons that are blended into the story well. It's about how you can be more than people see you but that doesn't mean that you have to make a drastic change; that it's okay to not know exactly you who are and that you can explore and try different things and still be true to yourself.

Ebook: 3.5 Stars; Audio: 4.5 StarsI really did enjoy this quick, fluffy, low angst YA romance. The characters were fun and the story didn't dwell long on any conflict. Both the H/h were likable and believable with friends that felt true to life. My only criticism was the time characters spent in their heads rather than audibly communicating. Although the internal monologues of both characters were both interesting and realistic, I would have liked to have read more banter and seen a communicative connection between the two.I spent most of my time listening to the audio book of Out of His League and I enjoyed the dual female/male narration. The female narrator was perfect. The male could have been a little less demonstrative in his narration, but overall it was well done.

I LOVE this book. Veronica and Drew were just the coolest and cutest couple I could ever have imagined. Even though they are teens and at first glance pretty independent individuals, we also are shown a little reality to how teens are when faced with the problems the two have in this book. Who hasn’t felt invisible before? Veronica’s change and growing up really hit teenage on the spot and I think most YA lovers will really enjoy the classic high school drama and might, I dare say, *swoon* with that sweet building romance. I just adore Maggie’s books and I can only highly recommend her work.Final Rating: 5 Stars

This is a wonderfully sweet story. Mostly because it feels so very real. Yes, Veronica (Ronnie) and Drew have mad sports skills, but it’s more important that they are, at the core, mainly good people even if they are still growing and finding out just what else they are. I’d love to have been Ronnie but that was never in the cards. I’d love to meet her now - and I’m sure we’d be friends. That’s s wonderful feeling to have about a fictional character and it tells that the book itself must be pretty wonderful too.I'm off to book 2 now. As for this (standalone) delight? I couldn’t recommend it enough.

This was a great coming-of-age story. Ronnie found an opportunity to reinvent herself into the new and improved version. He plan didn't include someone fron her past, someone who could destroy her plans to be noticed. This was a great story about self reflection for young adults. High school is hard enough with the social caste system. Ronnie learns that sometimes being popular isn't all what it's cracked up to be. And that growing up means finding out who you are and who you want to be.

This is a sweet wonderful story with characters well developped. The story is believable and the hero and heroine lovely. The author has a real talent and her characters come alive, main and secondary. I loved Ronnie and Drew and their friends. I felt like going back in time and feel all the motions a teenager feels. The ending is perfect, but moreover the whole story flows perfectly.Maggie Dallen has written some wonderful books but this one is one of my favorites. Every scene has a purpose and seems real, what more can someone ask from a book?
