I will admit that I skipped over this title in my searches for new reads a few times. I was skeptical, simply because 'oh no not ANOTHER vampire adaptation; right? immensely wrong on my part. after reading the synopsis and having my finger hover the one-click button numerous times and simply moving on, I finally hit buy. Why? well I figured there had to be a reason I kept gravitating towards this title, something kept drawing me to it. I bought it, I devoured it (pun totally intended) and I loved it. This is not your newest version of sparkly vamps, it's honestly very unique and wondrous, a blind and GAY vampire Zander, who falls for a very stubborn and amazing human Christian. I loved them instantly. Their story is intriguing, dark, beautiful, sexy and something I could have been happily lost in forever. I do try not to delve into the MC'S too much because I tend to spoiler alert the mess out of it, but the chemistry and love you feel for these two is amazing. Secondary characters in this book also draw you in, I was not at first sure of my feelings for Billy as he was introduced into the story, but slowly I started to fall for him. In the end he won me over and I'm anxiously awaiting his story. For this to be Mrs. May's debut novel into any genre let alone a multitude all in one go, I am surprisingly shocked and wowed, it's amazing, I am hooked and a fan for life. Anne Rice is an absolute favorite of mine when it comes to Vampire books, novels what have you and Tyler jumped right up there on that list to the top with her for me. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something new exciting, and beautifully poignant. Angel of Darkness was my first read of 2015 and I have a feeling everything else Tyler sets out for us this year will be just as amazing.
I purchased this because I thought it would be different - and it certainly was that! The cover itself will happily sit in my Kindle forever. However, even more to my benefit was discovering an author whose writing style I just loved! Since finishing this, I will read it again; I will read other stories by this author.Two worlds come together from a common past, and you can't help but follow where the journey leads....full of depth and the emotional connection that just explodes with heartfelt sincerity by both Christian and Zander. It felt like I was in their presence whenever these two connected on such a deep emotional level. I was not disappointed in this wonderful tale of two men who came from vastly different worlds during this time period.I felt the rawness of nature in its true form, and I just loved it.Tyler May writes in such vivid detail of both Alex and Rory's journey you cannot help but keep turning the page to get to where your heart wants to follow.As I read, they grab the reader by the heart, and drop you right in the middle of these two passionate men's moment. Oh yes...that's what it is all about! The sex was HOT! But their sex went beyond the physical.Thank you Tyler for a wonderful story that pulled me into another world where her character's find a place upon my forever keeper's shelf. I love the adventure and the emotional journey, and it keeps me coming back for more of her stories. I recommend this book to those who love a horny vampire with deep emotions. This is a M/M book. First off, my initial purchase of this story was because I was coming off the high of reading Black & Silver also by Tyler May. Vampire stories immediately make me think of Twilight and sometimes that's a turn off. But, I liked the cover and I'm a sucker for a hot gay man so I figured what the hell! I really enjoyed this story. It moved fast but the main characters, Christian & Zander, are literally soul mates. I like cool concepts like that! I wish I could meet and fall in love (again) with my soul mate if there is such a thing in life. Zander is also blind which I must say, I kept waiting for that to rectify itself in some way. I mean, he's a vampire, how could he NOT regain his sight once he was turned? I'm a sucker for a badass too so Billy was a nice touch to their dynamic. (in the next book you find out how awesome he actually is! Plus Zander & Christian get an amazing "gift" from him!) This author seems to have a thing for penthouses and powerful gay men. LOL not hating because it's not a bad thing! The ending was a nice twist as well. This isn't Black & Silver but it was a great fantasy type read if you're into that sort of thing. You don't have to believe vampires exist but if they're out there and anything like Zander I wouldn't sneeze at getting bitten by him.
